Brrrrr…

Filed under: Occasions, Pictures, Random — Valentina May 19, 2008 @ 3:13 pm

Did I mention that I quit my job? It feels soooooooo good to have nothing to do on Tuesdays and Wednesdays! I usually dont have class on both days and work had taken over them since January.

The weather is turning cold…. Goodbye my dresses…. I love wearing dresses, short skirts and short pants :D They are so comfy…. and now I have to bid them goodbye and great my big and bulky winter clothes….

And right now, it seems like I have caught a flu. Sneezes and mucus…. Blargh. Maybe its due to the fact that my window is wide open and I am still in one of my summery dresses…

I just realised that I havent posted pictures from ANZAC day… a little too late but better than never! :D

The ANZAC day trip was organized by KV, my hostel. So we gathered at 4.30am(yes, 4.30am, I stayed up whole night instead) and the RAs dropped us at the nearby train station and we went to the city. From city we took the bus to King’s Park. I did not take a lot of pictures there because my camera’s battery died! After that we went to some park which I cannot recall its name to have breakkie. Gold Coin breakfast. Basically you just donate some amount of money and you get the breakfast. We also had ANZAC biscuit which was quite tasty. Bhav had to go home to sleep because she had to work night shift so we went home early and missed the parade. Many people were dressed in their uniform and old people displaying their badges proudly on their chest, it was an interesting experience. :)

Goodbye, Ali.

Ali was found on Wednesday.

I attended his memorial service yesterday at uni. Many were there including his brother and father. It was an emotional occasion. It started off with a guy(his friend I assume) reading a prayer for him. Then one by one, his friends went up and make their speech.

It was Vegard first. Vegard was there with Ali when he went missing. In fact, Vegard was swept into the sea with Ali by the king wave. Fortunately, Vegard was washed back to the shore. Ali was not as lucky. He was swallowed by the sea and Vegard, among others, was there to witness the tragedy. I am really glad that he is okay.

Up next was Jacob. He was very close to Ali. Then there was Claudia, fellow Canadian. All these friendship were formed in Kurrajong Village, the hostel, including mine with him. He loved football and he was always around, practicing with his football. He was always smiling, easygoing and carefree.

My last encounter with him was when he came over to KV to practice football(he moved out this sem) and we had a small talk. I remember opening the gate for him and we were trying to figure out how to keep that gate unlocked(it locks up automatically) and we had a good laugh after solving the problem merely by parking his bike at the door, to keep it ajar. Then he and I were at the BBQ pit at Vegard’s place, cooking food for others. He made a remark when I was cooking saying I was getting ready to get married. Heh. Funny dude.

He was a good friend. A good man. I am sorry he had to leave us so soon but like they all say, he is at a better place now, fulfilling his other duties Allah gave to him.

You will be missed, Ali. You will remain a part of our lives.

Rest in peace.

Maroon5

Filed under: Fun, Occasions, Pictures — Valentina April 3, 2008 @ 5:08 pm

I was at Maroon5 concert with Bhavna last Friday and I wanted so much to cry because…..

we didnt bring out cameras.

I WANTED TO KILL THOSE PEOPLE WHO PRINTED “NO CAMERAS” ALLOWED AT THE BACK OF THE TICKETS AND I WANT TO KILL MYSELF EVEN MORE FOR READING IT. NO. ACTUALLY KY MADE ME READ IT. I WILL GO BACK AND TORTURE HIM. :(

And everyone else had their camera(okay, not eveyone but a lot ofthem did) :(

My camera would have taken such nice pictures and videos! zomg I still feel like crying.

Other than that, the concert was awesome. AWESOME. Brandi Carlile opened the show. Shes an amazing, amazing singer but we couldnt wait for her to get off the stage because One Republic was next, then Maroon5. One republic was great and I fell in love with their new song, Stop and Stare. When they play “apologise”, the crowd shouted and started to sing along, including myself. Ryan Tedder, their lead singer, was so damn cute lo! He was very nice as well.

Then Maroon5 came. Their energy filled the stage and Adam Levine is a very good live singer. Not one note/pitch out of place. I almost died when he sang “wont go home without you” right after a really slow and soft song. They just lifted the mood of the whole crowd! He then ended the show with “this love”. He also dedicated the song “she will be loved” to all women in the world. I almost melted. Hehehe.

Of course, theres encore. People were shouting and audiences from the elevated seats(where we were) started to stomp their feet on the board that formed the seats. I was stomping with them at first but then the fear of the whole thing collapsing filled my mind and I decided to stop and nudged Bhav to stop as well :P Our seats were really good as our side was the only elevated one and its facing the stage so we didnt have to stand up at all. I swear they performers were within a good 200 meters of our touch. Really. I could see them jumping/bouncing around on the stage so clearly I was close to tears. Seriously. No free standing, free sitting shits. Everyone was seated but you have to choice of running to the fence separating the crowd and the stars themselves to ogle.

The lighting, although was of nothing fancy, lifted the atmosphere tremendously. Not to mention the loud, blasting but good sound sytem. I loved every bit of the concert. *swoons*

In short, I had an amazing, amazing time that night despite leaving my camera behind. I will definitely go to their next concert!

Some pictures taken with my crap phone.

HvZ is over

and I was the second last human to die! And humans lost. :(

*sigh*

But it was all fun! I am definitely playing it again next semester and I want to be a zombie next semester! Heres are some random pictures we took throughout the game. There will be a small award ceremony later at 7pm for prizes such as best human, best zombie, best weapon and so on. Free food again! So nice.

It was a really cool game. We were given an index card with our identification on it and we’ll have to give it to the zombie who tags us. We were also given an orange bandana to identify that we’re playing the game. The zombies have to tie it either around their head or their neck and the humans around their hand/arm or leg. We would have to look around whenever we get out of the house, even when we are at the uni! We had to hold onto our socks and guns all the time to protect ourselves from zombies. It was especially fun when we have to chase and stun zombies when we’re at uni! Everyone would just look at us with question marks popping up around their heads.

Hehe..
I love Bhavna so much :D Its like we have the same minds besides the fact that she is meaner than I am :P I am so glad to have found her here! I cannot imagine life here without her. Really. By the way, Easter break officially starts for me, right now! Will be going to Rottnest Island on Monday with friends. Its like all of a sudden my life becomes much more happening. Vegard’s second house warming party the previous Saturday(which I miseed for HvZ), Kenny(M’sian friend) invited me to his house warming party, Vegard invited me to go to Albany over the weekend which I politely declined(Bhav wont be going :( and it would clash with Rottnest) and Maroon5 concert next Friday! Then there’s another house warming party the next Saturday.

I just realised how that I am writing like a primary school kid. The sentence structures and the vocabs etc are so childlike. Will try to write like an adult the next entry!

I slept through a party

Went to Vegard’s house warming party today.

Chit chatted with random people once we arrived at around 7pm. Got into the pool about half an hr later and played water volley ball and other ball games. Then the BBQ stove was set up and we started to eat.

I got pretty drunk at 9+ and passed out on his couch while everyone else continued to party on. At one point, Bhav came over excitedly and told me that Cam(some guy we met last sem) was here and I told her I want to continue to sleep and she left me alone.

There were roars of laughters from time to time and people running around so I decided to get up. Went out to where everyone else was. I spotted Cam and several other people in the pool, a bunch of people lying on the ground, talking and drinking and the rest were playing poker.

I spoked to Cam for a bit, joined Bhav and the rest at the poker table and not long after that, Hugo stood up and said lets go!

me : Huh?

H : After this round we’ll go.

me : Huh? What time is it??

H : It 11+

me : !!!! I slept for so long?!!

Bhav has to work on Sunday so we had to leave early. Can you imagineeeeeeee. Me sleeping through half the party. *sigh*

I think I am turning into an alcoholic as well. Vodka Cruiser’s Guava flavour damn nice! But Baileys + milk + whipped cream + cocoa powder is still the best.

I didnt take a lot of pictures because most of the time my phone wasnt with me. I post then up next entry, okay! I should be in bed now but that napped sort of revitalised my energy.

Oh oh oh! Last night we played karoke battle on PS2 at a neighbour flat. It was so entertaining! I scored the highest bwahahahahaha 9330 points. Thank you, thank you. The semester has been fun but how long will it last?

Oh oh oh oh! Last night we also had a welcome dinner at the village. Free food! The manager actually paid for this game called “Gladiator”. Its am inflatable “boxing ring” which cost $140AUD an hr. Two players each game and they are supposed to knock each other until one of them falls from a small, round and wobbly platform. I played with Bhavna. It was so tiring that it wasnt even funny. Really. But I only took pictures of Olivia fighting Irvine.

Alcoholics

Filed under: Fun, Occasions, Pictures — Valentina February 26, 2008 @ 1:56 am

All my house mates are alcoholicssssss!!!!!

They drink like fishes -_-

I have been drinking 4-5 nights in a row(cannot remember how many exactly)! I even went to the Tav in uni for the first time. Unbelievable.

Then there’s Vegard’s pool party.  Then there’s Olivia’s house warming party. And vegard’s house warming party this weekend!

Then I also went to the WA beach for the first time. Attempted to get tanned but I didnt even get a bikini line. An hr’s effort of lying motionless wasted.

I met Olivia a couple of days ago and she, in my opinion, is the friendliest person on earth. She is so bubbly and cheerful and nice! I love her :)

There is this drinking game which my house mates like to play very much called “Circle of death”. We played that game at Vegard’s and it was hilarious!!! Each playing card represents something and the people who picked J had to make a rule. Sam made a rule where everyone had to finish their sentence with “in my pants”. Almost laughed myself to death through the game. Then another guy, Michael, picked J and made a rule where only Sam had to finish his sentence with “in my pants”!!! When someone picked 4 everyone had to touch the floor and I accidentally smashed my cheek on Hugo’s chair back when bending down with full force and its still hurting now.

Then Linzzie just got back here from China on Sunday. She bought me my “Sancha” *sobs* Love her for that.
