Hi, Just-tin!!

Yes, its you! The one who left a not very friendly comment on my MDG review! Herro! :D I realise that my reply to your comment was so long that I think it deserves a whole entry by itself!

Here goes :

justin : Ur comment is so long I think I’ll reply you point by point..

“I think u are just parot-ting whatever others are saying. 1st of all.. how do u know jay can cat walk well?? i mean, just in the mere 2-3 seconds of video clip u could tell?? i could see that cindy canot catwalk well and adeline is just average and as for the rest of the girls cant really compare who is better cat-walker coz the clips are just too short and shoots were here and there..”

My view : Its not just from Mifa that I concluded Jay could walk better than the rest of the girls(note:she is not perfect, just better than the girls). There was this fashion show from 1U as well. Plus I thought I stressed enough on how all the things I wrote was solely my own opinion, so I am not sure if you are trying to change my mind with your comment or what… of course you are free to voice out your point of view as well but from your sentence structure, it seems like an convince more than opinion…

I know Cindy cannot walk…so cant come other girls..

Thats why I said there arent enough runway lessons or proper place to practice..

“2nd(ly),this is how reality tv works when it involves the viewers. i mean, look at american idol, u also sms or call in right? so what’s the difference?? obviously whoever got more people to vote for or same number of people voting more would win. But the catch is, whoever wins this atleast they are the top 12 contestant, just like american idol..judges chose the top 12 contestants..so whoever wins are atleast from the top 12..and lets just assume that all these top 12 has equal potential if not minor differences when u train them properly.”

My view : American Idol does not request the contestants to stay together, does not include one while episode about contestants bitching about each other nor does it have space for the contestants to play tricks such as acting cute, kind, pity etc etc etc. In addition, there are real judges to provide comments and advice each week and posing/expressions/walking/personalities are pretty much subjective compared to singing. You know a person sings out of tune/pitch when you hear it whereas different people might have different personal likings to whatever factors thats affecting the votes.

“3rd(ly),i think ringo’s lingery photo is quite alrite, i mean, u could see the clevage and the lace on top of the bra, the panties as well… this is how most of the lingery shots are taken.. unlike hanis’s jay’s and other girls where everything is covered up.”

My view : You obviously havent seen enough lingerie advertisement… or maybe you are just speaking from a guy’s perspective…. Honestly, I havent seen any lingerie ad with the model squeezing her asset with her arms that way. I am sorry Ringo, nothing against you, just trying to justify my point. PLUS, I did not say that Ringo covered her lingerie up. I was just saying that it wasnt a good picture overall.

“4thly,It’s human nature to vote for someone that u like, that u know, that u think that she’’s good or more deserving.. u cant say the voting system is unfair..i mean, if ur sister were to be in the show, dun tell me u wont support her all the way??? *think think-my dear *
obviously this is an entertainment bussiness.. more votes in=more money to the production team= a sucessful production=more similar shows with better quality=more money.so if u ask me if the voting system is unfair?? i would say this is bussiness..”

My view : I have given my example in my original post and I am not going to stress it anymore because if I justify somemore, someone might get hurt. Like I said, its unfair because some bad pictures taken earlier in the competition got to stay and some better ones actually got eliminated which is why I am saying that its unfair. Yes, I would support my sister but I wont support my favourite blogger blindly.

“can u say american idol’s voting system is unfair?? no right?? u havent even thought about it previous even right?? why?? coz all their 12 contestants are equally good if not just minor difference… and for the malaysian dreamgirl, all the 12 contestants are just average girls..and it’d be the best of the average while in american idol it’ll be the best of the best who will win.”

My view : Oh yes I have thought about it all the time even before MDG started because I have been watching so many reality shows here that uses the voting system. American Idol, Australian Idol, So you think you can dance US and AUS etc etc. Like I have said before in my reply to your second point, its different(refer back to my reply).

“so my conclusion is: u are just following what others are saying! very dissapointed at ur review.”

My view : And to your conclusion, I am even more disappointed by your inability to acknowledge a few points that I have pointed out before anyone(at least I havent read of them yet) which are my point #1, #3(on bandwidth), #4 and #6. Truly, deeply, disappointed.

Rottnest Island in words

Okay. I think my previous entry was too brief so I am going to tell about the 2 days trip now.

I slept at 2am and had to wake up at 6:50am to get ready. For the first time in my life, I was to wake Bhavna up! Amazing. She was always the one waking people up. And I woke Jim up as well. Then we departed KV by taxi at 7.30am and reached the jetty at about 8am. We got there, paid for our reserved tickets and bikes and proceeded to have a light breakfast.

group-pic.jpg

From left to right :

Bhavna(Mauritius), V(Zimbabwe), Rishi(India), Chris(Aus), M(not to be disclosed), Emelie(Sweden), Edison(Canada), Me(M’sia), Sonia(Mauritius), Jim(India).

How globalized! Anyway, we boarded the jetty at 8.45am. From the map, it looked like a 20 mins journey. However, it took us 2 hours to get there. I was kinda seasick by the time we got there -_-

The service was so good! I was so impressed by the Rottnest Express company. Thanks to Chris to planned everything, he booked bicycles for everyone of us and the bikes were right at the jetty waiting for us once we get of the ferry! How nice! We then went to have brunch. It was a sunny day with breeze which made it really nice to be outdoor. We checked into our chalet after brunch and settled our stuffs down before going out. We split into 3 groups. Sonia and Edison went to the general store to get something and Jim and Emelie went to get some liquor and before we all knew it, the rest of us started to cycle to the nearest beach and we lost contact with the other 2 groups because reception was really bad and although it looks like a tiny dot on the map, Rottnest Island is freaking big(when u have to cycle).

We cycled 7kms before paradise came to our eyes. It was Salmon Bay. It was so gorgeous we parked our bikes and almost jumped into the water immediately. There are 18 beaches on Rottnest Island itself but only about 7 are accessible. Besides Salmon Bay, Georgie Bay is another beauty. There was another beach we went on the second day which name I cannot recall. There is every necessity on the Island. You name it, it has got it!

As you can see from the pictures, we had a whale of a time there. We built sandcastles and took lots of pictures(but some are too exposing to be posted here hehe). Then I got tanned as well(I am so dark now :(). After what seemed like 3 hours, we cycles another 7kms back to our chalet. The cycling was hell because there were too many uphills!!!! I almost wanted to ditch the bike and just walk.

After we went back to our chalet, the other two groups came back respectively. We all took shower and prepared to go for dinner. We saw many Quokkas(An animal Rottnest Island is famous for) on the island! Its like a mini kangaroo. Very cute and tame. We had dinner at this restaurant thats facing the sea. It was gorgeous albeit a bit too windy. Dinner was lovely and the night went by in a blink. We cycled leisurely back to our chalet. Oh! Bhavna almost ran over a Quokka on the way back :P

I quickly changed into my pyjamas and jumped into my bed and was set to visit lalaland. But these good friends of mine just wouldnt let me sleep. M came to my bed and started to talk to me. Before I knew it, Bhav joined in. Then Chris dragged a sofa to my bed and joined in. Then Jim and Emelie joined us as well! My single bed was squeezed with 5 adults. They all drank and I think M and I were the only sober ones. Bhav was so drunk she passed out on my bed. So I had to take her sleeping bag and sleep in another room instead. It was a really fun night though. Had a lot of decent conversations and we bonded a lot.

The next day everyone was up by 9am as we had to check out by 10am. After checking out, we went for breakfast. We decided to take the tour bus this day instead of cycling as always everyone was experiencing pain at their crotch, including myself. Too much cycling =\

The bus ride was really nice as well! We then stopped by at the beach which name I forgot and spent an hour there. Then we caught up with the bus again and toured the rest of the island. It was really lovely :)

We then went to the jetty at 3pm to wait for the ferry which departed at 4am. Everyone was so tired almost all of us took a nap on the journey back. It was a very enjoyable trip and I think we’re going to Mandurah in 2 week’s time. Am looking forward to go :D

Maroon5

Filed under: Fun, Occasions, Pictures — Valentina April 3, 2008 @ 5:08 pm

I was at Maroon5 concert with Bhavna last Friday and I wanted so much to cry because…..

we didnt bring out cameras.

I WANTED TO KILL THOSE PEOPLE WHO PRINTED “NO CAMERAS” ALLOWED AT THE BACK OF THE TICKETS AND I WANT TO KILL MYSELF EVEN MORE FOR READING IT. NO. ACTUALLY KY MADE ME READ IT. I WILL GO BACK AND TORTURE HIM. :(

And everyone else had their camera(okay, not eveyone but a lot ofthem did) :(

My camera would have taken such nice pictures and videos! zomg I still feel like crying.

Other than that, the concert was awesome. AWESOME. Brandi Carlile opened the show. Shes an amazing, amazing singer but we couldnt wait for her to get off the stage because One Republic was next, then Maroon5. One republic was great and I fell in love with their new song, Stop and Stare. When they play “apologise”, the crowd shouted and started to sing along, including myself. Ryan Tedder, their lead singer, was so damn cute lo! He was very nice as well.

Then Maroon5 came. Their energy filled the stage and Adam Levine is a very good live singer. Not one note/pitch out of place. I almost died when he sang “wont go home without you” right after a really slow and soft song. They just lifted the mood of the whole crowd! He then ended the show with “this love”. He also dedicated the song “she will be loved” to all women in the world. I almost melted. Hehehe.

Of course, theres encore. People were shouting and audiences from the elevated seats(where we were) started to stomp their feet on the board that formed the seats. I was stomping with them at first but then the fear of the whole thing collapsing filled my mind and I decided to stop and nudged Bhav to stop as well :P Our seats were really good as our side was the only elevated one and its facing the stage so we didnt have to stand up at all. I swear they performers were within a good 200 meters of our touch. Really. I could see them jumping/bouncing around on the stage so clearly I was close to tears. Seriously. No free standing, free sitting shits. Everyone was seated but you have to choice of running to the fence separating the crowd and the stars themselves to ogle.

The lighting, although was of nothing fancy, lifted the atmosphere tremendously. Not to mention the loud, blasting but good sound sytem. I loved every bit of the concert. *swoons*

In short, I had an amazing, amazing time that night despite leaving my camera behind. I will definitely go to their next concert!

Some pictures taken with my crap phone.

There were about 10 of us, not sure what happened to the rest(not being in any pics). I was amazed by myself though. I had a shot Jaeger bomb and a few sips of Barcadi + coke and I wasnt even tipsy(yes, drinking away my sorrows). I am still very upset over my clothes despite the fact that I have already shopped for new ones. Have to go shop again on Thurs.

They called off the search for Ali. I really hope that he is just stranded on some island and will come back to us eventually.

I wont be writing about Rottnest because it was great. Period. Have 200+ pictures in facebook. Get a glimpse there if you are interested :)

HvZ is over

Filed under: Fun, Occasions, Pictures — Valentina March 20, 2008 @ 5:25 pm

and I was the second last human to die! And humans lost. :(

*sigh*

But it was all fun! I am definitely playing it again next semester and I want to be a zombie next semester! Heres are some random pictures we took throughout the game. There will be a small award ceremony later at 7pm for prizes such as best human, best zombie, best weapon and so on. Free food again! So nice.

It was a really cool game. We were given an index card with our identification on it and we’ll have to give it to the zombie who tags us. We were also given an orange bandana to identify that we’re playing the game. The zombies have to tie it either around their head or their neck and the humans around their hand/arm or leg. We would have to look around whenever we get out of the house, even when we are at the uni! We had to hold onto our socks and guns all the time to protect ourselves from zombies. It was especially fun when we have to chase and stun zombies when we’re at uni! Everyone would just look at us with question marks popping up around their heads.

Hehe..
I love Bhavna so much :D Its like we have the same minds besides the fact that she is meaner than I am :P I am so glad to have found her here! I cannot imagine life here without her. Really. By the way, Easter break officially starts for me, right now! Will be going to Rottnest Island on Monday with friends. Its like all of a sudden my life becomes much more happening. Vegard’s second house warming party the previous Saturday(which I miseed for HvZ), Kenny(M’sian friend) invited me to his house warming party, Vegard invited me to go to Albany over the weekend which I politely declined(Bhav wont be going :( and it would clash with Rottnest) and Maroon5 concert next Friday! Then there’s another house warming party the next Saturday.

I just realised how that I am writing like a primary school kid. The sentence structures and the vocabs etc are so childlike. Will try to write like an adult the next entry!
