Gimme a break.
I have never taken myself as half a Taiwanese and half a Malaysian Chinese. We’re all chinese and we are of the same species. I have never taken myself as a mix because like I’ve said, we are all Chinese.
But my look tells otherwise.
A few years ago, a friend of mine told me that I am counted as a mix. I said no, we’re all Chinese. We’re all originated from China and the only possible misture would be the nationality.
So I was getting my hair done the other day when the hairdresser asked me the same question I have been asked for SO ma-annoying-ny times.
Hairdresser : Are you a pure chinese?
Me : Yes, I am.
H : Are you sure?!!(He sounded that surprised. really.)
Me : Er..yes. (how can I be not sure?!?!?!)
H : You look like a mix.
Me : Urm. He-he.
I have already been bothered by the fact that I do not look like my mum’s daughter and many people have mistaken me for many other races. Some even joked that my mum must have been naughty back then and hence I came out looking like a mix.
Thing is, I really detest people saying that I do not look like a pure Chinese. It annoys me. But when I meet new people, they’ld make that remark. Gosh. I do not look like any other races okay. I look like my parents’ daughter!
Some said I should be flattered for getting those remarks. No. They annoy me. I am proud to be a Chinese and I would love to look like a chinese, which I think I do. Those people who think otherwise need to take another look.
Yes. I am pissed once again. Gimme a break people. The next person who makes that remark is going to get it from me. *roar!*
